We tucked in to a lovely breakfast of cereal, toast, bacon, waffles and beans. This set us up for a busy day of rock climbing, caving and gorge walking.
Mr Jones and Miss Howells split us up into groups for the first time. Half of us were going gorge walking with Pete, while the rest went rock climbing with Gethin.
The gorge walking group started the day with possibly the hardest task, getting into our wetsuits. It was really tough, made worse by the fact that some of us had to wear two to make sure we were warm enough. Once we got the wetsuits on, we set off in the minibus to Neath Valley. We got off the bus, zipped our wetsuits on, put on our buoyancy aids and walked down to the river. From there we walked along the river and some traversing along the bank. Eventually we got to a waterfall me had the chance to jump into the water. It was really fun, if not a little (very) cold.
The rock climbing group headed along the same path as yesterday down to Mewslade. We spent a bit of time exploring some caves, going in and out before moving on to some climbing. Gethin set up a climbing line and we all had a chance to have a go. One of us was going to be the climber, one as a belayer, and another as a plonker (making sure that all the rope is organised tidily). After a while we kept getting better and better at climbing and abseiling, by the end we were able to climb up in 5 seconds and assailant back down in 2 seconds.
Once back at Rhossili we had a delicious tea of pasta bolognese and pizza followed by jelly and ice cream for desert.
As it was a nice night, we headed out down to the beach and had a great time making models, and playing games. Unfortunately a big dark cloud came over us and we ended up being caught in a massive hail storm. We started the long treck back to the Centre, luckily the hail stopped. Once back we got changed into our pyjamas, had a nice cup of hot chocolate to warm us up and a game of bingo.
Tomorrow it is planned that we will head to Millwood for a day of orienteering.
