After breakfast we headed out for our activities. We split up to go on the minibuses and headed to Pennard, before walking down to Hunter’s Bay. When we were down there we split up into 2 groups. One group went climbing in the morning, then some more rock hopping in the afternoon, while the other group went the other way around.
When we were climbing we worked in groups of 4 with our instructors Nick and Stuart (Squid). One of the children would be climbing, while the others helped to support them at the bottom. Once we reached the top, we had to start the scary job of trying to abseil back down.
Rock hopping was really cool, we scrambled along the rocks, in and out of caves and up and down some steep drops. It was really exciting.
Later we headed back to Dan y Coed where we had a bit of down time before food. We had chicken curry, but could also have jacket potato with cheese and ham. It was really tasty and quite a few of us went up for seconds. For desert we had a choice of chocolate or vanilla arctic roll, again quite a few of us had seconds.
Finally we headed to Blackpill for a night of swimming, football and running around on the equipment. After a good time, we strolled along the front back to Dan y Coed where we finished the night by watching Night at the Museum with a cup of tea and some popcorn.
We are really enjoying but can’t wait to see our families.
