For our last day at Dan y Coed, Mr Jones gave us a few extra minutes in bed, and then managed to wake everyone up quietly so we could charge into one of the boys rooms singing ‘Happy Birthday’. It was a lovely start to our last morning. We then set about the challenge of finishing packing our cases with the last few items and stripping our beds down.
We then headed downstairs, dragging our suitcases, placed them in the hall and went in for our last breakfast; bacon, waffles, hash browns, spaghetti hoops and omelette. This was really nice, once we had finished everything off we went back into the hall and got ourselves ready to go off with John and Pete to Caswell Bay.
When we got to Caswell, the tide was in, so we visited the kiosk and had a chance to spend some of our money. We purchased all sorts of items for ourselves and our families including large ‘snow cones’, bracelets and dinosaur toys. Once the tide had gone out a little we went down onto the beach and had some fun, just playing. We threw balls around, chased each other, even buried some children.
After a while it was time to head back to Dan y Coed, gather the last of the items up that hadn’t been claimed and have our lunch.
We finished our time by presenting some certificates to the children who had been classed as ‘Stars of the Week’ and gave some presents to the amazing Dan y Coed staff and the brilliant instructors. Without them our week would not have been as amazing an experience. Thank you so much to all the instructors we had during the week; Pete, John, Aaron and Charles and Tony for organising everything. Also thanks to Mrs Barnes, Mrs Kieft, Mr Osborne and Tammy for popping down to visit us.
It really has been a great week. The children were all brilliant and you should all be proud of them. Miss Howells and I really have had a great time with them. Thank you to you, the parents. Your messages were great and really helped pick the children up when they needed it most.
Have a great, relaxing weekend and we will see you bright and early on Monday morning.
