Today we had a change of plan. At the start of the day we were ready to go to Three Cliffs Bay to do some rock climbing. However, due to the time of high tide, we had to change our plans. We ended up splitting into two groups to do some kayaking and rafting.
After a tough few minutes trying to squeeze into wetsuits the two groups left to their different venues. One group went to Knab Rock Slipway to do some kayaking. They tried to kayak around and ended up playing games (swapping from one kayak to another, jumping into the water). They all had a great time and ended up stopping in Joe's Ice cream on the way back. Miss Rees and Mrs Barnes enjoyed, despite Miss Rees getting quite upset when she couldn't find her flip flops!!
The other group headed to Neath Canal with Mr Jones, Miss Howells, Miss Selby and our instructor, Stuart. When we got there we had to carry 3 rafts up to the start of the canal. In groups of 4 we got onto the rafts and used paddles to travel up. It was good fun, but we had a hard time getting through some of the reeds and vines. The water was really cold, but once we got going we warmed up. Later Miss Howells and Miss Selby had a go in a kayak and we all started to splash them. After that Mr Jones went in the kayak, but when Chloe tried to get on the front, they both ended up upside down in the water.
We had a tasty chicken curry for tea, followed by some birthday cake for Chelsea. In the evening we went to Blackpill again, for some swimming and playing in the park. We ended the day by heading back to Dan-y-Coed for hot chocolate and some cornflake biscuits.
Another great day, they all slept well last night (Sleeping by 10:30). Fingers crossed for the same tonight and another good day tomorrow.
