Today was a bit of a wet and wild day. The weather was horrible from the start, with rain from first thing this morning, till 4:15 when we got back to Dan-y-Coed. We left early with our waterproofs on, ready for a wet day in Clyne Woods. We headed up onto the woods and through the different areas. Eventually we got to a tree that we could have a go at walking up. A load of the children had a to at climbing up it, then Sebastian and Imogen did some chin ups on the smaller branch. From there we carried on walking to adore rent area where we were given a chance to use the loose branches, sticks and leaves around us to build Dens. The dens had to big enough for us to fit in, it was really hard.
We later moved onto a part of the woods where we could do some activities that the instructors had planned. Stuart and Chris set up a balance rope between 2 trees. Lots of us had a go at balancing on the ropes and walking from one tree to the other. It was quite scary because we were about 1m off the ground. Most of the children had a go, even Miss Rees managed to make her way across.
We finally made our way to the cycle track that leads to Blackpill. From there we took a slight detour off the track and set up another balance rope. However, this time, it was going over a river. We were all a bit more scared of this one, because if we fell off we would be upto our waists in the water. When the instructors were setting it up, Stuart had a go and ended up falling in. This made us all feel better and we had a go. We all managed, even though a few of us did fall in.
We finished there, and made our way back to Dan-y-Coed. We were soaked through but by the end we had a great time.
In the night, we stayed in for a change. After having pizza for tea we had a few games. We played a game where we had to blow a bottle top across a tray filled with water. This was really fun, and the girls were winning, but when we got to the last go, Joseph -v- Chloe. Mr Jones tricked them and banged the water. The two of them got absolutely soaking. Then we played a game where we needed to put on a hat, scarf and gloves before trying to eat a bar of chocolate using a knife and fork.
It was a great, if not wet day. We are looking forward to going rock climbing tomorrow.
