We woke up on our last day and set about the challenge of stripping our beds and moving all of our suitcases downstairs. We tried to get all of this done before breakfast so that we would have more time for activities. We got all of the suitcases down, and most of the clothes sorted then headed into breakfast. We had bacon, omelette, spaghetti hoops and boiled eggs with orange or apple juice.
Following breakfast we put our cases tidy and set of for Mumbles Hill to do some orienteering work. The first group arrived at the top of the hill before the others. While waiting, we made the most of the time and took some pictures with the amazing views and had yet another game of eagle eye. Once the second group arrived, Rob and Nick showed us how to use the maps and set us off to find the letters that matched up to the numbered points.
After about an hour of searching all around the hill each small group had found most of the letters, apart from the letter at number 16. Nick and Stuart said that it was really well hidden and we would never find it. So, we set of down from the hill towards Mumbles village. Here we waited on the cycle track while we went in small groups to a shop in the arcade to buy a memento of our trip. We brought loads of cool things, from fridge magnets, to cuddly toys.
When we had finished our shopping we crossed over the road to Joe’s where we could use the rest of our money to buy whatever ice-cream we wanted. Some of us played it safe and just had a small cone, whereas others had eyes bigger that our bellies and ordered massive chocolate sundaes.
With our ice-creams we drove back to Dan y Coed where we ate them with our lunch before heading back to school on the bus.
Thank you to all of the staff at Dan y Coed and all the instructors, Stuart (Squid), John, Nick, Rob (Cool Beans), Jamie and Tony.
We have had a great week, but are glad to be home with our families.
Have a relaxing weekend and chill out. See you all on Monday.
