We walked into the Centre, dragging our cases behind. Once in, we met our instructors: Stuart and Aaron. They explained the rules to us, and gave us time to move to our rooms.
After a while, and a fire drill, we had our lunch. We ate turkey burgers and chips with salad. It was really tasty. We then got our clothes ready and headed of for an afternoon of rock hopping.
We left the Centre and walked down the road, before turning off and down a steep, muddy hill. Quite a few of us slipped on the muddy hill, including Mr Jones. Once we eventually made it to the bottom, the instructors talked to us about the types of rock that were around. They explained that the rocks were made of limestone. They told us to rub the rocks together and then to smell them. They gave off a smell of sulphur, it wasn't very nice.
After this we continued to walk around the cliffs, along some narrow edges and even more muddy paths. We eventually reached the bottom of the Rhossili Downs. From there we headed on the long and tiring walk up the hill. Once we reached the top, the view over Worms Head was amazing. We headed along the top, and finally made it back to the Centre.
Once back, most of the children deceived to have a shower and got themselves changed into clean clothes. We then had a bit of down time to get used to our new surroundings, before having a buffet tea, including sausage, pizza and sandwiches.
The weather was a bit hit or miss, so we decided to stay in the centre for the night. We played a few games of bingo and completed our diaries.
Tomorrow the plan is to split into two smaller groups to complete different activities.
We will let you know how tomorrow goes tomorrow night.
