Thursday saw the more competitive Junior Sports Day. In the morning, the children gathered in their houses to decide who was competing in each event. This was tough as some people didn't get chosen for the event they wanted, however all children had the chance to participate. The events started off with the sprints. After all of these races Pennard had a slight lead over the other houses, we then moved onto the egg and spoon races. Here Pennard dropped some points, with Caswell and Langland coming back to jointly hold the lead. As the events continued, sack race, skipping, javelin and long runs, Pennard regained their lead. With only the relay races left it was all to play for. Going into the last race (Year 5 / 6 Girls Relay) both Pennard and Langland had the chance to win. The event ended with Pennard declared winners by a margin of only 2 points. This was the closest event we have had for a number of years. Congratulations to Pennard, as well as all the other children from each house.

A few Thank You messages. Thank you to ASDA for coming to school and providing water and fruit to all the children for both Foundation Phase and Juniors. It was a really nice touch, which we hope will continue every year. Also thank you to all the Parents who came to support the children. It really means a lot to them and I know it gives hem that extra push to do well.
